Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £60,000

Position Overview: They are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our Manchester-based team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded systems software that is used in multiple industries. You will work with a dynamic team of engineers and contribute to projects involving Linux-based open-source technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded software solutions using C, C++, Python, or Rust.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of Linux-based systems and utilize open-source technologies.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in software development using C, C++, Python, or Rust.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and open-source technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Knowledge of embedded hardware design.
  • Contribution to open source projects or communities.
