DevOps Engineer- CI/ CD

Location of work: This role can be performed fully remotely

Rate: £55-65 per hour (inside IR35)

Contract length: 12 months initially

Start date: ASAP

The role:

A globally recognised organisation who specialise in the development of autonomous vehicle software platforms and tools are looking to add a CI/CD engineer to their software group for an initial 12-month contract which is likely to be extended.

You will be joining a team who are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining an ever-growing suite of best-in-class automation tools and other assets to improve the day-to-day software engineering efficiency of the business.

In this role you will work in an agile and international operating environment where you will be supporting software engineering teams with the adoption and deployment of automation tools/ assets to support their Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will collaborate with software engineering teams to assess needs and develop solutions applicable across the company’s entire product portfolio.
  • You will be responsible for implementing CI/CD automation frameworks making the best use of existing engineering infrastructure such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Kubernetes, etc.
  • You will support the development of the software engineering infrastructure collaborating with the core infrastructure team on new tools to provide extended use cases.

It is advantageous to have Python scripting experience, with Bash and Powershell being desirable. Whilst Python is often the preferred language, if a project requires/determines a different method of development, then another language will be utilised.

Key skills required:

  • CI/CD Technologies such as Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes and Automation
  • Scripting languages experience e.g Python, Bash, Powershell (desirable)
  • Experience interface programming and design e.g. against central IT systems such as Jira would be beneficial
  • Agile
  • Can solve complex problems using initiative
