Electronic Design Engineer

Position: Electronics Design Engineer

The Role: A new position has now been created for an Electronics Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working towards the design and development of industry leading products for the safety and detection industries. They are British owned and design, develop, test and manufacture all their products in their state of the art, purpose-built facilities in Lancashire.

The successful Electronics Design Engineer focus will be the design and development of a range of new products, working closely with likeminded engineers in a multidiscipline engineering team. You will be expected to contribute from initial concept through to in house testing and manufacture and will have the chance to see products you have designed come to fruition.

You will be an experienced Electronics Design Engineer who is comfortable with analogue and digital circuit design, schematic capture, PCB design and have some experience with switch mode power supplies (SMPS). Whilst any experience with EMC standards, microcontroller design or audio technology will make your CV standout.

Compliance Engineer

Position- Compliance Engineer for consumer electronic products

Salary- up to £55,000

Location of client- Leeds city centre

Location of work- You can perform this role remotely or in the office

The role-

A growing electronics business in Leeds who design and manufacture their own products, as well as sell third party manufactured products require a Compliance Engineer to join their expanding team. In this role you will take ownership for all compliance related tasks for their electronic products.

The types of products you will be responsible for ensuring meet compliance and regulatory standards will be set top boxes, smart televisions, wifi equipment, routers, 4G mesh networks and devices used in retail.

To be suitable for this role you should be passionate about ensuring electronic devices meet and comply with international standards such as REACH, RoHS, CE, UK-CA, and that all necessary documentation and declaration of conformities (DoC’s) are in place.

Due to incoming changes to existing standards this will mean updating documentation and DoC’s to ensure the products comply to the latest standards. An example are changes being made to WiFi and IoT security standards.

Field Application Engineer

Job Title: Field Application Engineer

You will have electronics design knowledge and be comfortable interacting with non-technical customers and sales agents.  In this role you will be mainly working remotely and will be expected to travel throughout the southern region of England to various customer locations on a regular basis.

This role will be made up of 2 primary aspects:

  • You will be visiting electronic customers to understand and support their requirements, you will be responsible for advising which components would be suitable for their product design developments. This will mean visiting and speaking to customers as well and doing presentations from time-to-time.
  • You will be responsible for training a team of 5 to 6 sales engineers so that they have the technical acumen to have technical conversations with perspective customers, to help better understand their needs and make accurate recommendations.

  • Electronics design skills – educational or industrial experience
  • Fault-finding and trouble-shooting of PCB design related issues.

The successful Electronics Software Engineer will be joining a growing engineering team with the chance to contribute to the development of a new range of products that will be sold around the UK and Europe.  Their office is in the Burnley area, but they offer very flexible work from home and you will only need to be onsite as a when required for task work (2/3 days a month).

Your workload will be split between electronics and embedded software design and you can expect the split to be 60/40 in favour of electronics design. You will be expected to contribute towards the full design life cycle of a new product range whilst also maintaining existing products. You will take part in design meetings and work closely with other engineers with your role including concept design, PCB design, circuit design, debugging hardware, embedded software programming and in house testing.

Our client build, develop and deploy a range of industry leading detection devices that are deployed around the globe in a variety of hazardous locations. In this role you can expect to be involved in a range of activities from development, build, configuration, design and implementation of a range of bespoke IT hardware, network infrastructure and IT software solutions.

The ideal IT Systems Engineer will be a Microsoft OS expert, familiar with Active Directory, MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) and Virtual Machines (VMware, Hyper-V etc). You should also be a real IT allrounder with skills and experience covering hardware configuration, network configuration, software validation and system support.

In this role you can expect to work closely with a variety of other engineers from test, firmware, hardware and cybers security teams and should expect your role to offer you plenty of variety of tasks and problems to solve.
