An exciting new position has been created for an Electronics Software Engineer to join our SME sized client who specialise in the design and manufacture of high volume, battery powered IoT devices. The successful Electronics Software Engineer will be joining a growing engineering team with the chance to contribute to the development of a new range of products that will be sold around the UK and Europe. Their office is in the Burnley area, but they offer very flexible work from home and you will only need to be onsite as a when required for task work (2/3 days a month).
Your workload will be split between electronics and embedded software design and you can expect the split to be 60/40 in favour of electronics design. You will be expected to contribute towards the full design life cycle of a new product range whilst also maintaining existing products. You will take part in design meetings and work closely with other engineers with your role including concept design, PCB design, circuit design, debugging hardware, embedded software programming and in house testing.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Analogue and Digital circuit design
- PCB design and Layout – Altium or Eagle ideally
- Embedded C programming
- Microcontroller development – PIC or ARM ideally
- A range of serial protocols: SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, TCP/IP etc
Desirable Skill and Experience:
- C++ programming
- Wireless protocols – BLE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi etc
This role will best suit an Electronic Software Engineer who enjoys both software and hardware design and is keen to make a real impact in the design and development of a range of new products. You could either be an electronics engineer with some software skills looking to get more hands on with software design or an embedded software engineer with some electronics skills keen to develop your electronics circuit design skills.
In this role you will get the chance to work on a range of modern technologies and be actively encouraged to learn and develop new skills. On offer is a salary of up to £50,000 + pension, healthcare and very flexible working hours and remote arrangements.
