Position: Electronic Design Engineer

Location of office: Newcastle

Location of work: Hybrid (Hiring Manager can offer flexibility)

Salary: up to £55,000 + benefits

The Role: An established electronics business who design and manufacture IoT connected devices and equipment for safety critical industry sectors such as mining, power, gas, scuba diving and firefighters require a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their growing R&D team.

This is an opportunity to join the company just as they are about to unveil their brand-new laboratory which is fully equipped with lots of new equipment with training to be provided. In this role you will join a multidisciplined R&D team where you will have the chance to work with a variety of like minded engineers from different backgrounds.

Skills required:

• Full product lifecycle design- concept through to manufacture
• Analogue and Digital circuit design
• Embedded microcontroller/ microprocessor based products
• EMC design

As an Electronic Design Engineer you will work on full product lifecycle developments, working from concept through to manufacture. The business has recently launched its cloud platform which they are now wishing to integrate into future product designs so that they are IoT connected.

To be suitable for this role you should be an Electronics Engineer who is comfortable with Analogue and Digital design for low power wireless embedded microcontroller/ microprocessor-based products. If you have experience designing products that are used in safety critical industry sectors or have been designed to safety critical standards this would be highly desirable.

Desirable experience:

• Designed products using RF or Wireless communication protocols e.g. BLE, Cellular, Mesh, RF, WiFi, Zigbee
• Designed products for Safety critical industry sectors or to Safety Critical standards
