The Role: Our client specialise in providing third party businesses with customisable products that are used by thousands of people on a daily basis.

With the business looking to update their online presence and deliver a better experience to their customers, they now require a Full Stack Web Developer to help them deliver on their new website which has fallen behind. You will have the responsibility of taking an ongoing project and pushing it through to completion.

The initial focus will be working the back end, ensuring useability and functionality before moving onto the front-end development. With the client needing to ensure a smooth process, ensuring orders are tracked and stock levels adjusted correctly is a major point to consider in this development. Full stack experience will be required to ensure the front-end connection to the backend SQL Database. The current website is formed of: MVC framework, Javascript native and html.

This project requires someone for an initial 12 month period, with a need to be onsite full time with a view to moving into a hybrid working model once settled.

Lead Embedded Software Engineer

Position: Lead Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Stretham, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £60,000

A leading manufacturer in instrumentation which is used in the sensing and measurement industries for transmitters are looking to recruit an expert embedded software engineer to the team, to show the current members of the business the most modern embedded software techniques based around RTOS.

The business has in its portfolio of products the broadest range of technologies of any equivalent company in their sector, the business is part of a large group of companies which have a portfolio of measurement businesses under their umbrella. The company has been selected to be the member of the group who progress the technology and develop the skills identified internally that are becoming ever more required when applying corrections to sensors and algorithms to sensors.

The business needs to refine and bring in new skills, as they have a lack of skills withing the business for modern embedded software development techniques. As the business has such good staff retention the embedded software techniques need updating to include development of RTOS based systems. As a result the company is looking for someone who can lead and transition the team and mentor the other team members in modern embedded software techniques. There are always new processes implemented internally and the company need someone internally to champion this for embedded software. The team is currently 3 dedicated to pure software and 2 who are doing electronics / embedded software.

Currently the embedded software engineers are doing bare metal development with the strategic plan to move to RTOS, the team is currently using FreeRTOS but looking to move to more full featured operating systems and someone who has put together compact and efficient embedded systems and has strong knowledge of python would be an exceptional appointment.

The company is currently making decisions such as bringing in pre made code libraries rather than going from the ground up. The team is currently working with embedded c and may look to move towards more object orientated languages. A significant amount of new development is in the offing, the new embedded software engineer will have the capability to update refreshing core ranges and push forward new technologies which will open up new markets to the business as a result there will be a wide range of algorithm development. The company has a clear 5-10 year road map.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in new area which is, scientific and complex, and the embedded software engineer will not just be working with the software engineers but also the scientist who develop the mass and then the software team apply this to the product. Supplier Quality Manager

Position: Supplier Quality Manager

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits

The Role: An exciting new role has now been created for a Quality Manager to join our engineering clients growing team in the Coventry area. This role can be performed on a hybrid work from home basis, offering the chance to work remotely 2 days a week.

The successful Quality Manager will manage the day to day running of the quality department and have 2 direct reports. Your focus will be to lead incoming quality control, working with suppliers and colleagues to make sure all incomings meet they required quality standards. This will involve overseeing testing activities, setting quality standards, reviewing and updating internal processes and providing the necessary documentation.

You can expect the role to provide plenty of variety in daily tasks including the below:

  • Be the key leader of Quality Assurance & Governance through the business
  • Management of the department KPI’s, through Compliance, IQC, Corrective Actions and Supplier Scorecards
  • Generate the monthly Quality Department Reports for execs along with monthly supplier assessment reports
  • Managing and leading regular Quality internal review meetings and regular review meetings with the Quality Teams

In this role you will play a key role within the quality and compliance function and will have the chance to make a real impact in new processes, managing procedures and advising the business across all quality related topics.

FPGA Design Engineer

FPGA Design Engineer – VHDL or Verilog

Location: Leicester

Salary: £50,000

An electronics businesses who specialise in the design and development of complex instrumentation for clients, who include household names from the world of F1, Automotive, Higher Education Institutions, Consumer Electronics and Whitegoods, are looking to recruit an FPGA Engineer to the team.

The business is working from a very large modern building designed specifically for R&D and Manufacture. The company complex electronics devices are shipped throughout the world and are then used in the detailed analysis of power.

The business typically competes with businesses from the far east but our client has a system which utilises FPGA’s which makes their products unique. The devices read the samples working at a low level, utilising the FPGA and then synchronise with AC inputs and then compute very quickly.

A new position has now been created for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our clients engineering team, their office is in the Crewe area, and they work to a flexible hybrid work from home model. You will be the senior engineer within the team, have the chance to be involved throughout the full design life cycle and lead firmware developments.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience coding to regulated standards e.g. MISRA

Some of the legacy projects are programmed in Embedded C, whereas the newer projects are using C++ on Bare Metal.
