System Design Engineer

Position: Systems Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location of Work: Fully Remote

An electronics business who are leaders in the design and development of complex mission critical software, are looking for a systems design engineer to work on the “left hand side” of the V life cycle. The business are a multinational, with huge cash reserves, a strong order book and are looking to improve upon what was a very successful 2023 by adding to the Systems Design Team. The business is looking for the right talent, and as a result is more than happy to consider System Engineers who would like ‘fully remote working’.

The embedded software used in the businesses mission critical applications controls complex Bluetooth related applications, and their client portfolio is a who’s who of the worlds bluechip companies. You will be working with a hugely talented team of engineers who take great pride in their work and are all on the same goal of ensuring the company continues to deliver its goals and provides stable and enjoyable employment. The team you will work in is cross functional, and as a result the System Design Engineers role will be pivotal to ensuring that all the separate entities in the team are succeeding.

The System Design Engineer will be working on the left hand side of the V life cycle and as a result be responsible for working closely with customers, who will be some of the biggest companies in the world, whilst working as a product owner in a cross functional team. The System Engineer will need to have the ability to understand the customers technical requirements whilst designing and developing solutions from concept to launch, whilst designing solutions and formalised representations that meet the customer needs.

The knowledge of safety critical standards and functional safety standards will be key very much a nice to have, but one that would be appreciated by the business alongside the use of CAN tools such as CANoe and CANdela studio whilst delivering prototype to external and internal stakeholders.

The business will offer the Systems Design Engineer a salary of £40,000 – £60,000 plus bonus, pension and competitive package and fully remote working.

Embedded Software Engineer

Role: Automotive Embedded C Software Engineer
Rate: up to £50 per hour, outside IR35
Location of work: Fully remote working
The Project:
An automotive electronics business based in the West Midlands requires an Embedded Software Engineer to join them for an initial 6-month contract that is likely to extend. This role can be performed fully remotely.
You will be working on the development of a charge controller which is used when charging an EV vehicle.
The ecu on a vehicle will communicate to the charging station which then sends a message to the charge controller. The charge controller controls the contactors. Because of high currents and voltages it will also measure temperature. If the temperature was to reach a dangerous level then everything cuts out and the contactors open again to ensure everything is cut. This product needs to be ASIL B functional safety rated.
This is an opportunity to join a project at the early stages of development on a newly formed team.
Experience required:

Field Application Engineer

Job Title: Field Application Engineer

The Role: A successful and growing electromechanical business that develops, manufactures and sells electromechanical components (e.g. connectors, switches, assembly products) is now looking for a Field Application Engineer. You will have electronics design knowledge and be comfortable interacting with non-technical customers and sales agents.  In this role you will be mainly working remotely and will be expected to travel throughout the southern region of England to various customer locations on a regular basis.

This role will be made up of 2 primary aspects:

  • You will be visiting electronic customers to understand and support their requirements, you will be responsible for advising which components would be suitable for their product design developments. This will mean visiting and speaking to customers as well and doing presentations from time-to-time.
  • You will be responsible for training a team of 5 to 6 sales engineers so that they have the technical acumen to have technical conversations with perspective customers, to help better understand their needs and make accurate recommendations.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Electronics design skills – educational or industrial experience
  • Fault-finding and trouble-shooting of PCB design related issues.
  • Knowledge of the electro-mechanical industry including use of materials, environmental effects and constraints
  • Strong communication and
  • Degree qualification in an Engineering related subject

Position: IT Systems Engineer

The Role: A new position has now been created for an IT Systems Engineer to join our clients growing Engineering team and take on a key role within their team. Our client build, develop and deploy a range of industry leading detection devices that are deployed around the globe in a variety of hazardous locations. In this role you can expect to be involved in a range of activities from development, build, configuration, design and implementation of a range of bespoke IT hardware, network infrastructure and IT software solutions.

The ideal IT Systems Engineer will be a Microsoft OS expert, familiar with Active Directory, MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) and Virtual Machines (VMware, Hyper-V etc). You should also be a real IT allrounder with skills and experience covering hardware configuration, network configuration, software validation and system support.

In this role you can expect to work closely with a variety of other engineers from test, firmware, hardware and cybers security teams and should expect your role to offer you plenty of variety of tasks and problems to solve. This is not your standard IT Engineer role, and you should expect the to be very hands on and you will often be expected to carry out work in different production and engineering environments, whilst having the chance to travel internationally to work closely with customers around the globe should you want to.

Position: Quality Engineer

Salary: Up to £50,000

Office Location: Birmingham

The Role: A new role has been created for a Quality Engineer to join our client as they continue to grow their engineering and production teams. Our client design and manufacture a range of IoT connected electronic devices for the healthcare and telemetry sectors.

In this role you will work with the design and production teams leading the way in making sure the business achieves ISO certification and improve manufacturing procedures. This will involve a complete review of their manufacturing process and quality improvement of in field failure procedures. You will analyse these processes and provide solutions and improvements to enable the business to better control their quality standards whilst also providing a continuous improvements programme for the manufacturing and engineering teams.
