System Engineer

Position: Systems Engineer, Left side of V

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000

Location: Belfast

The client will transfer a visa for this vacancy

The Role: A leading Automotive business who are at the cutting edge of Electric Vehicle systems developing the system that sits within the vehicle for some of the worlds most prestigious OEM’s are looking to recruit a talented Systems Engineer (left hand side of the V) to the team, ideally with automotive experience but will consider an exceptional Systems Engineer without automotive experience.

The Systems Engineer (left hand side of the V) will be working with customers on defining the requirements for the element that connects to the charging station which includes the plugin, communication technology, payments and the safety and charging information such as voltages, monitoring of the battery, heat and current. The chance to work on the systems requirements of a product that interacts with the external charging unit whilst analysing data from the battery will allow the successful Systems Engineer the ability to work on the core of EV development.

The role will involve capturing system level requirements from the customer and then working with the software engineers to ensure the requirements are being turned into software requirements understood by the software engineers. There will also be the opportunity to work on system level testing such as hooking up to a charge point and running through a charge cycle and noting errors and faults.

The tech stack required for this role is below, automotive is a nice to have

Systems Engineering experience, working to the V model and the left hand side of the V
Appreciation of Embedded Software
Experience of requirements capture
Experience with requirements capture tools such a Jama

The salary on offer is £55,000 – £60,000 + bonus and benefits

System Design Engineer

Position: Systems Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location of Work: Fully Remote

An electronics business who are leaders in the design and development of complex mission critical software, are looking for a systems design engineer to work on the “left hand side” of the V life cycle. The business are a multinational, with huge cash reserves, a strong order book and are looking to improve upon what was a very successful 2023 by adding to the Systems Design Team. The business is looking for the right talent, and as a result is more than happy to consider System Engineers who would like ‘fully remote working’.

The embedded software used in the businesses mission critical applications controls complex Bluetooth related applications, and their client portfolio is a who’s who of the worlds bluechip companies. You will be working with a hugely talented team of engineers who take great pride in their work and are all on the same goal of ensuring the company continues to deliver its goals and provides stable and enjoyable employment. The team you will work in is cross functional, and as a result the System Design Engineers role will be pivotal to ensuring that all the separate entities in the team are succeeding.

The System Design Engineer will be working on the left hand side of the V life cycle and as a result be responsible for working closely with customers, who will be some of the biggest companies in the world, whilst working as a product owner in a cross functional team. The System Engineer will need to have the ability to understand the customers technical requirements whilst designing and developing solutions from concept to launch, whilst designing solutions and formalised representations that meet the customer needs.

The knowledge of safety critical standards and functional safety standards will be key very much a nice to have, but one that would be appreciated by the business alongside the use of CAN tools such as CANoe and CANdela studio whilst delivering prototype to external and internal stakeholders.

The business will offer the Systems Design Engineer a salary of £40,000 – £60,000 plus bonus, pension and competitive package and fully remote working.

Embedded Software Engineer

Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location of work: Fully Remote working

Salary: Up to 50,000

The Role: Due to continued growth our client is now seeking an experienced Embedded Engineer to join their team working towards the development of their next generation products. Their products improve people’s lives, and you will have the chance to make a real impact in all new development.

You will be joining small team working in an agile environment, so the ability to work closely with other engineers and experience working throughout the full development lifecycle is required.

Skills and Experience Required:

Embedded software design
C/C++ programming
RTOS experience– FreeRTOS, AzureRTOS, ThreadX etc

Desirable Skills and Experience:

ARM processors (STM32, Cortex-M)
Bare-metal development
Wireless protocols: Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, Thread etc
