Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £65,000

Location of office: Newcastle

Location of work: Hybrid WFH Available

The role: An exciting role has now been created for an Embedded Software Engineer to join one of UK’s fastest growing technology companies specialising in the emerging robotics and automation market. Our client is currently working with a host of market leaders towards the development of a range of revolutionary products. Their head office is in the Northeast but they are happy for the role to be performed on a hybrid work from home basis.

Joining a team of engineers with experience across a range of disciplines your focus will be to build maintainable and well-tested embedded software applications which will form a key part of a range of complex distributed systems. You will across the full development life cycle and be given the chance to work with new technology developments in a challenging and rewarding environment.

The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will be degree qualified and enjoy the challenge of solving complicated problems whilst working on new product designs. You will be comfortable working in a small team, have experience in a similar role and be able to illustrate experience with the following:

Skills and experience required:

  • Embedded C/C++
  • Microcontroller programming – ARM Cortex preferred
  • I2C, SPI, UART, RS232, CAN etc
  • Bare metal or RTOS development
  • Degree qualification within an Engineering subject

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Unit testing or test driven development
  • FreeRTOS
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Azure DevOps

The successful Embedded Software Engineer will get the chance to focus on new product developments, working in a small team environment using state of the art technologies and techniques.
