KO2s client, a leading technology company based in Birmingham, is looking for an experienced Embedded Engineer to join their growing team. This exciting role offers the chance to work on next-generation products while maintaining and updating current systems. As an Embedded Engineer, you will play a key role in developing cutting-edge embedded systems and transitioning to new operating systems.

This position offers flexible hybrid working, with 2-3 days in the office per week or more remote options available.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize low-level software in C, specifically for STM32 firmware.
Work on GSM and GPRS protocols to enhance communication capabilities.
Lead the transition to a new operating system for their next generations of product
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement embedded solutions.
Ensure high-quality, reliable embedded systems through thorough testing and debugging.

Essential Skills & Experience:

5+ years of industry experience in an Embedded Engineer role.
Strong proficiency in low-level development using C.
Extensive experience with STM32 firmware development.
Solid knowledge of RTOS and the ability to lead transitions to new operating systems.
Experience with GSM or GPRS communication protocols.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with CAN protocol.
Knowledge of MISRA C standards.
Familiarity with MQTT for IoT communication.

Senior Electronic Engineer

Position: Senior Electronic Engineer

Salary: Up to £80,000 + benefits

Location of Office: Birmingham

The role: As our client continue to grow their engineering team, they are now seeking an Electronic Design Engineer who will work throughout the full design life cycle developing cutting edge products for the global healthcare sector. Their office is based in the north Birmingham area and they work to a 4 day week, giving everyone a long weekend.

The ideal Electronic Design Engineer will be joining a small, growing team with plenty of new product development to get stuck into straight away. You will be experienced enough to manage your own time and workload and be expected to contribute from initial concept through to in house manufacturing and assembly done onsite.

You will be experienced designing both analogue and digital circuits, be strong with PCB design (Altium desired) and familiar with a host of serial protocols including RS485, UART, SPI, RS232, I2C, Ethernet etc. Any experience with wireless protocols (Zigbee, BLE, WiFi etc) or IoT connected devices would make your CV stand out.

This role will best suit an Electronic Design Engineer who is passionate about developing innovative solutions for a product range that improves people’s lives. You will be comfortable in a small team environment and enjoy the variety of work this style of working presents.
