Position: Head of IT and Cybersecurity

Salary: Up to £70,000

Location of office: Hull

The Role: An exciting new role has been created for an experienced IT Manager to join a rapidly expanding engineering business. The successful IT Manager will be tasked with leading the companies IT and Cybersecurity strategies; driving efficiency, innovation and security across the organisation as they continue to grow. As IT Manager you will be responsible for managing and optimising the IT function, IT infrastructure and leading cybersecurity initiatives.

Joining at an exciting period of growth you will be given the chance to influence and educate the business on strategic level decisions and make a real impact in what services, technologies, and platforms the company use moving forward. You will initially have 4 direct reports to manage and should expect to recruit additional headcount as the company continues to grow.

The current user base is roughly 110 split across a variety of sites and remote working locations, this number is likely to grow quickly this year and they are looking to put a clear IT infrastructure and future proof plan in place that will enable rapid growth and make sure key data and information is kept secure.

The ideal IT Manager will have previous experience in a similar role and have the drive and motivation to take ownership of all matters IT related, whilst taking on a senior level role within a growing engineering company who are building products that will have a real impact in improving the lives of future generations. You should expect your role to involve:

Digital Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Identify and support opportunities for the use of Digital tools to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.

IT Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the IT team and outsourced support, ensuring the stability and scalability of the company’s technology infrastructure.
  • Oversee the implementation of new systems and technologies to support business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with overall business objectives.

Cybersecurity:

  • Develop and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy to safeguard the company’s digital assets.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Data Management:

  • Implement data governance policies and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Team Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
