Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: up to £55,000

Location of Office: Wakefield

Location of Work: Hybrid WFH Available

The Role: An exciting new role has now been created for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our clients growing engineering team in the South Leeds area. This role will offer plenty of variety and the chance to develop brand new software solutions that you will be able to see implemented in daily life. Our client has an excellent reputation, with over 30 years’ experience in their sector and their customers include a range of industry leaders and cutting edge, innovative projects.

Skills and Experience Required:

• C programming
• RTOS operating systems – FreeRTOS, Zephyr etc
• Microcontroller design – STM32, Microchip PIC and Nordic desired
• Serial Protocols – I2C, CAN, SPI, DALI etc
• Degree qualification – Engineering or Computer Science related ideally

This role will best suit an Embedded Software Engineer with solid industry experience in a similar role who is keen to make a real impact in the design and development of a range of new products whilst working in a small team environment. You will report directly to the Technical Director and be given the freedom to make development and design related decisions. You will be expected to keep up to date with the latest technologies and implement these throughout the design process.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Wireless protocols – BLE, Thread, Zigbee etc
• Application level development – C, C++ or Python
• Source code management – Git or similar
