Embedded Systems Engineer – Sport Tech Scale-Up (Vauxhall, London | £40,000–£55,000)
Hybrid: 3 days in-office (inc. Thursdays), 2 days remote | 1 month/year working from the Austrian Alps

KO2’s client are a rapidly scaling sport tech company based in Vauxhall, London, building the future of ski coaching. The compabies flagship product is a wearable sensor system combined with a novel mobile app that delivers real-time coaching to skiers using precision embedded systems and smart motion analysis. It’s been a hit—and we’re growing fast.

They are now looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer who’s excited to design and build the next generation of our hardware. If you live and breathe electronics, ski (or want to learn), and love getting stuck into both firmware and hardware—this could be your dream role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and prototyping custom electronics hardware (including PCB layout)
  • Writing embedded firmware in C for Nordic NRF52 series MCUs
  • Integrating MEMS sensors and Bluetooth connectivity into wearables
  • Collaborating with a small, talented hardware team (London and remote)
  • Supporting R&D for next-gen embedded systems platform
  • Spending 1 month/year working from our Austrian office in a top-tier ski resort—gear up, it’s all on us!

About you:

  • 3–5 years of experience in embedded systems and electronics design
  • Strong hands-on experience with PCB design and prototyping
  • Comfortable with embedded C development, ideally on Nordic platforms
  • Bonus: experience with MEMS sensors, Bluetooth, or ski gear!
  • You enjoy working in small teams, wearing multiple hats, and seeing your product used on the slopes

Electronics Design Engineer

Position: Electronics Design Engineer

Location of Office: Finchley, North London

Location of work: 4 days in Office 1 day WFH

Salary: Up to £65,000

The Role: Our client, a well backed, fast growing start-up in the sports technology sector, are now looking to add an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their team to work on the development of their next generation of products.

Their engineering team is made up on a multidiscipline team of likeminded people including sports scientists, electronics engineers, mechanical engineers and software d evelopers and they are looking for Electronics Engineers who are keen to work as part of a team whilst taking ownership over their own time and workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Work through the full electronic design process of our next generation of products.
  • Take ownership of sections of our new products, developing solutions to our unique challenges.
  • Tackle complex technical problems with a balanced mix of analytic and hands-on approaches.
  • Develop new ideas and clearly communicate them with the rest of the engineering team.
  • Support the pre-compliance analysis and testing of new products.

This role will suit electronics engineers who are passionate about technology and keen to develop state of the art hardware to allow people to gain more insight into the live sports sector. You will be keen to be part of a team and be motivated by working on a variety of projects with the chance to contribute throughout the full lifecycle.

Skills and Experience:

  • PCB design and schematic capture – Altium ideally
  • Digital and analogue circuit design
  • Experience through the entire product design process
  • Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscope, dmm, logic analyzer etc)

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with products including RF (GPS, BT, UWB).
  • Experience in a smaller company or start-up environment
  • Experience designing digital, battery powered electronics around a microcontroller.
