Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £50,000

The role: As our client continues to grow, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team. Their office is in the Chester area and the successful Mechanical Engineer can expect to work on the design of a range of new products with plenty of opportunity for regular home working. Our client develop, design and manufacture products for the energy market and their products are currently in use around the UK and Europe.

This role will best suit a Mechanical Engineer who is able to illustrate experience in a similar role who is keen to work on new product designs in a friendly but challenging team work focussed environment. Experience in an electronic product design environment is crucial and you should be comfortable working with the latest versions of Solidworks and working with plastic injection moulding equipment and a 3D printer.

You will be the designated Mechanical Engineer in the team and as such will be given the chance to work on a range of brand-new products what will go into manufacture in 2024. You will have the chance to work throughout the full design life cycle on a range of electronics enclosures and other related products such as cable assemblies and casings. You will take the lead on all mechanical design related decisions and work closely with the engineering team to make sure all future products meet the required quality and functional standards.

• Solidworks 3D
• Injection moulding
• Plastics design
• Designed products enclosing electronic PCBs

Desirable skills and experience:

• 3D printing
• Design for high volume manufacture
