The role: A new role has now been created for an experienced Software Engineer to join my clients growing development team working towards the design of a range of cutting edge, wearable devices that are used around the globe. Their office is based in the heart of Brighton, and they offer a flexible hybrid WFH model whilst being easily commutable via public transport.

In this role the successful Software Engineer will be joining a small development team and be given design authority across anything software related and the chance to have a real impact in the design of a range of PC and mobile applications that will be integrated with cutting edge wearable devices.

Software Sales Engineer

Job Title: Software Sales Engineer

Location of Work: York and Remote Working

Salary: £35,000 – £55,000

This exceptional career opportunity allows you to use your software skills in a sales environment. As a pre-sales engineer, you’ll be working closely with customers, helping to understand their complex technical needs, delivering software demonstrations, and making sure technical solutions stand out.

Your work will involve helping customers develop the real-time embedded systems of the future in the fields of aviation, autonomous vehicles and space exploration. You will be supporting household names like Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce, and Collins Aerospace with their software verification challenges and leading the way in high-tech software automation.

Working as a member of the sales team, you will play an important role in increasing sales by working across multiple departments including marketing, software development and field-application engineering.

This role is based at our clients York office, with hybrid/remote options and flexible working available. You will have the opportunity to travel to customers around the world as well as attending trade-shows/conferences and exhibitions. There are many opportunities for growth into account management, marketing or technical areas.

What will you be doing?

Your main task will be technical pre-sales – this means supporting the sales team by delivering technical demonstrations of our software to customers, helping customers with technical questions and generating technical content about our software solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical presentations – delivering demonstrations of our software to help customers understand the benefits of our technologies
  • Managing technical interactions with customers during the sales process
  • Creating and maintaining technology demonstrators – working with the teams around the company to showcase the latest features
  • Visiting customers around the world to help them with technical pre-sales questions
  • Presenting and exhibiting at shows and conferences

Reporting to the Sales Office Manager, you will be working across several areas of the company, helping to keep the technical and commercial teams closely aligned.

The tools are widely used for the verification of reliable embedded software in the aerospace, automotive and space industries.

Technologies you’ll be working with:

You will be working with aerospace and automotive embedded systems, including a variety of real-time operating systems, safety-critical software systems, and several programming languages (C, C++, Ada, Python). The key technology, which you will learn, includes code-coverage, timing analysis, testing and analysis.

AUTOSAR Embedded Software Engineer

Location of work: Can be performed fully remotely from UK or Europe

Rate: £45-55 per hour

Contract length: 6 months initially (likely to extend)

IR35 determination: Outside of IR35

The Project:

You will be developing embedded software for a brand new automotive control system. To be suitable for this project you should be an Embedded Software Engineer who has proven AUTOSAR and Automotive development experience.

The primary AUTOSAR taskwork you will be working on is MCAL, BSW and CDD development. If you have RTE experience this is desirable, but not essential for the initial taskwork.

Scrum Master

They are happy for people to take on this role on a remote basis and have been successfully working to this model for several years now.

The Role:

In this role the successful Scrum Master will be tasked with leading an international software team developing a range of middleware applications to meet specific client needs. You will be leading a software team made up of 10/12 engineers working remotely across the UK and Germany. They work to agile methodologies and your main focus will be to drive continuous improvements whilst supporting the development team, enabling them to deliver software solutions to meet client’s specific requirements and time scales.

Our client’s office is in York but they are happy for this role to taken on a fully remote basis and have been successfully working to this model for several years now.

C++ Software Engineer

A new position has now been created for a C++ Software Engineer to join my clients Engineering team in the Letchworth area. Our client is a market leader in their field and have over 30 years’ experience developing innovative products that are used around the globe.

The successful Software Engineer will be joining and experienced team of Engineers across a variety of disciplines and will be given the chance to work with modern software techniques across the full software development life cycle. You will be degree qualified and be able to illustrate experience programming C++ in a Linux environment and ideally have some experience with serial protocols such as CANbus, Modbus and TCP/IP. Whilst any experience with GIT, Docker or Cmake will really make your CV stand out.

Joining a small team, you will be tasked with developing a new range of software solutions focused on remote controlling and monitoring high-tech devices, whilst also collecting data. Embedded Software Engineer – IoT

Salary: Up to £55,000

The Role:

KO2 are now working with an exciting IoT technology company as they look to grow their Engineering team. Having recently invested heavily in their R&D facilities including a modernised production area, employee break room and testing facilities. They now have an opportunity for a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join their team as they embark on the development of next generation products.

Ideally your skills set will be focused on embedded system design, programming in C, serial interfaces (including: SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, TCPIP) and working with 6-32bit microcontrollers (ARM Cortex desired). Whilst any experience with wireless protocols, RF, C++ or MISRA C is desirable. You will be working on large scale IoT connected systems, connecting up to 500 devices on one system, so attention to detail and strong debugging skills are essential.

The successful Embedded Engineer can expect their role to include:

  • Maintaining existing code and developing new code for future products.

Electronic Design Engineer

The Role:

A successful electronics business in Barnsley, which was voted the ‘most admired company to work for in 2020’ require an Electronics Design Engineer to join their multidisciplined R&D team of twenty engineers.

The company specialises in designing control systems that saves people’s lives. The company is continuing to see revenue, profit and headcount grow year-on-year, which is testament to the products they produce and the strong customer demand. With customer queries increasing in the UK and Internationally there is a need to continually invest in new R&D, as there is a need to design new products as well as support and enhance existing products.

You should demonstrate excellent Analogue and Digital circuit design skills for embedded microcontroller/ microprocessor-based products. Although this role is predominately electronics focussed, if you can do embedded software there is the opportunity to do this if you wish.

As the products you will be designing are for safety purposes, there is a need to design to safety standards (EN and UL). Any experience designing highly reliable, and safety critical products would be advantageous, but is not essential. If you are seeking an opportunity to work on varied and exciting work, in a motivational and purposeful environment, whilst also having a great deal of flexibility then this opportunity will be ideally suited.
