Software Engineer – Embedded C and C# Application Development

Position: Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £70,000     

Location of office: Oxford

Location of Work: Remote working with occasional office visits

The Role: A leading medical devices design company in the Oxford area are now looking to add a Software Engineer to their team, working on a flexible remote working basis. They have recently achieved FDA approval and as a result they are preparing for a rapid increase in orders and are now adding new functionality to their next generation of life saving devices.

You will be joining a small, growing multidiscipline R&D team and be expected to take ownership of your own workload and software design including embedded level (C programming) and windows application development (C#.Net). You will be an experienced Software Engineer and comfortable contributing throughout the full development lifecycle. With an exciting next generation road map in place, you can expect to focus on new functionality projects from initial concept through to completion. The majority of this work can be done remotely, and you should only expect to visit the office when required (averaging once every 3 weeks).

This role will best suit an experienced Software Engineer who is looking for a role that offers variety and the chance to develop life saving devices. You will ideally be comfortable coding in C and C# and enjoys working across the software stack in a friendly environment where you will take ownership of your own time and workload whilst working from home.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Embedded C programming
  • C# windows application
  • Real Time Operating Systems
  • Visual Studio
  • Communication protocols: UD, TCP/IP etc

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • ASP.NET web application development
  • VxWorks, FreeRTOS or Safe RTOS
  • Medical or highly regulated industry experience
