Position: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location of Office: Sheffield

Location of Work: Flexible Hybrid Working from Home 50/50

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to become a key member of a dynamic start-up based in the heart of Sheffield. As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the way in all matters related to mechanical design, taking full ownership of the design, development, and testing of all mechanical systems. This role will involve close collaboration with both the engineering and production teams, making your mark on the company’s success.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Solidworks 3D CAD or similar packages
• Leading mechanical design, development and test activities
• Design using metals and plastics
• Design of electronics enclosures

Our client is all about innovation and are designing cutting-edge, industry leading devices for the cybersecurity and networking market, they have an international portfolio of esteemed customers and this product is crucial to their continued success. They are looking to add a mechanical design engineer who has been involved or led multiple successful projects and is keen to take the lead in the design and development of current and future projects.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of design and testing for Telecoms and data centre products
• Experience within a start up or small team environment

In this role you will work within a small, growing engineering team and be the sole mechanical engineer, so the ability to work as an individual and take responsibility for the full project life cycle on all matter’s mechanical is key. In return a strong salary of up to £60,000 plus very flexible working from home is on offer, alongside the chance to make a real impact in the design of a range of cutting edges devices.
