Senior Firmware Engineer
Our client is embarking on an exciting journey, building a new R&D team in their state-of-the-art offices in Coventry. As they step into the next phase of growth, they are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to spearhead the development of numerous groundbreaking projects. The Role: As the Senior Firmware Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading the development of cutting-edge new projects. Your expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company’s offerings. Joining a growing team, you’ll be part of a collaborative environment, bringing new ideas to life and taking on a hands-on technical lead role.
Required Skills and Experience:
- C and C++ Programming
- RTOS and bare metal development
- RF technologies – BLE, LoRa, Zigbee or Sub-GHz
- A range of microcontrollers including STM32 chipsets
As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will play a central role in the development process, ensuring high-quality firmware implementation, promoting best practices, and fostering collaboration across different teams for seamless project delivery. You can expect your day to day to include:
Product Specification Realization: Take ownership of turning product specifications into efficient and robust embedded Firmware, ensuring an optimal balance between effort and benefit.
Firmware Development Process: Be responsible for the Firmware Development Process, ensuring compliance with our Business Management System. Propose and implement improvements when identified.
Documentation and Traceability: Create firmware requirements specifications and design documentation to ensure complete traceability of the firmware implementation from start to finish.
Best Practices Implementation: Promote and implement industry best practices within the team, including adherence to recognized coding standards and validation methodologies for a rigorous development process.
Design Reviews and Documentation: Lead and coordinate design reviews, creating comprehensive reports and related documentation for the release of designs.
Source Code Management: Establish and oversee the management of source code in Github.
Collaboration with Validation Team: Facilitate enhanced collaboration with the Validation team to improve understanding and reduce development iterations, ensuring timely project delivery within agreed timescales.

Desired Skills and Experience:
