Position: Robotics Software Engineer

Salary: £55,000 – £75,000

Location of Office: Birmingham

Location of Work: Hybrid WFH

The Role: At an exciting new role has now been created for a Robotics Software Engineer to join our clients cutting edge engineering team working towards the development of industry leading, state of the art motion based, AGV solutions for the entertainment sector. In this role you will be working with a multidiscipline engineering team on brand new product developments from initial concept and throughout the full design life cycle. You will have the chance to work on a variety of software development tasks and the chance to learn and develop Rust programming skills.

The ideal Robotics Software Engineer will have experience delivering projects using C/C++ on ROS and be able to illustrate experience working with Linux, a variety of serial protocols and be comfortable with either Python, C# or Typescript, be comfortable with git and enjoy switching between languages when appropriate. Any experience with Rust or working with safety critical software will really make your CV standout.

This role will best suit a technology enthusiast who has industry experience working with ROS and is keen to be part of a small team designing state of the art AGV products and solutions what you will be able to see being used around the globe. If you are a robotics hobbyist with a passion for modern software development then this is the role for you.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • ROS or ROS 2
  • Linux
  • C/C++ programming
  • EtherCAT or other serial protocols

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Python, C# or Typescript
  • Rust
  • Safety critical software
