POSITION: R&D Project Manager
SALARY: Negotiable on experience
LOCATION OF OFFICE: Denton, Manchester
LOCATION OF WORK: Hybrid working. 2 days a week remote working
A highly successful privately owned electronics business in Manchester, who have sales offices all over the globe require a R&D Project Manager to join its R&D team. The company specialises in the design and manufacturing of a wide range of handheld instrumentation devices which are used for a variety of measurement purposes. All design and manufacturing takes place in their head office in Manchester.
In this role you will be reporting into the Engineering Manager where you will be working closely with the Engineering Manager and four Product Development Managers (who manage small multi-disciplined teams of engineers, consisting of Software Engineers, Electronic Engineers and Mechanical Design Engineers).
Your role will be to plan, manage and drive forward the product development projects to help achieve the company’s product roadmaps.
In order to do this you will be required to create project delivery plans, which includes resources and timings. Ideally you should have previous experience developing project plans for R&D product/ device developments.
As well as excellent project planning ability, you should be confident leading and executing the plans, to ensure objectives are met. This will mean working with the Product Managers and other key stake holders to monitor and review how the R&D activities are adhering to the project plans.

- Proven Project Management experience
- Experience project managing R&D product/ device developments e.g. products involving electronics, embedded software, mechanical design
- Excellent project planning experience, using MS Project or other planning tools
- Confident taking ownership and responsibility of project plans
- Strong leadership, team working and communication skills
- Comfortable working with multiple stake holders
