R&D Project Manager, Embedded Software

ROLE: R&D Project Manager with Embedded Software understanding

RATE: £50-62.50 per hour

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months initially

IR35 STATUS: Outside of IR35


An established electronics business who do all design and manufacturing of their product developments in Scarborough require an R&D Project Manager to join their team for an initial 6 month contract period.

You will be overseeing multiple product developments, with each product development having its own small sized project team. Each team typically consists of an Electronics Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer and Software Application Engineer.

For this role you should demonstrate experience managing product developments from concept stage through to testing and validation.

It is particularly important you demonstrate a good knowledge of software, with embedded software understanding being particularly desirable. As there is a lot of embedded software development to do, it would be very useful if you are able to provide technology advice or have an appreciation of the embedded software task work when communicating with the Senior/ Lead Engineers.

Product developments tend to be fast paced, so you should be confident working on developments that go through go from concept to manufacture quickly.

This is an opportunity to manage a wide range of electronic product developments which are mass manufactured. You will be working part of a fun, friendly and ambitious team in this role.


  • R&D Project Manager experience
  • Full product lifecycle experience (from concept to test/ validation)
  • Understanding of embedded software and electronics
  • Comfortable working on fast paced product developments
