Job Title: Product Manager
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Working arrangements: hybrid, 3 days on site, 2 WFH
The Role: A Leeds based business who 3 years ago were turning over £6 million and are now generating £27 million of sales because of an intense focus on innovative R&D and brand, are looking to recruit a Head of Product to the team. The business had a traditional focus on buying from the far east and then reselling to the UK market, however, the business 3 years ago employed one of the leaders of innovation in their sector as Technical Director. As a result of this strategic hire the business has registered 12 patents in 3 years and as a result are the leaders in their industry, with all the big-name brands using their tech enabled products. The products are now all IoT focussed and as a result enabling their customers to showcase UK designed best in class products that have the connectivity needed for the modern world.
The business continues to be ambitious and aspire to be £100 million turn over in 5 years and will need the expertise of a dedicated Product Manager. The business prides itself in an honest, open culture and the business that does not agree with internal politics and has a working environment, which is fun, fast, and passionate. As the business has category leading brands, the culture is one of high performance, curiosity, and drive. The Product Manager will drive category performance and manage all aspects of product lifecycle from product introduction to end of life, while owning the development of categories for each business unit.
The business is looking for a Head of Product and as a result you will have an extensive background in Product Management, be it as a Product Manager or Head of Product. The business is open to a Product Manager or Head of Product who has come from any industry, they are more than happy to teach the product and technology, they just need to have a talented Head of Product to work with. The Product Manager will become immersed in the sector and will be the focal point for all things relating to the companies range, which stretches to over 600 products.
The Product Manager will be responsible for creating category and range strategies, defining and monitoring KPI’s to ensure the business objectives are met. The Product Manager will work closely with all areas of the business, especially New Product Development to share insight received from customers and what the competition is doing, whist working with the Marketing Team to understand customer engagement and the next “go to” markets.
The Product Manager will help define product ranges which are financially astute and be able to position them appropriately whilst partnering with procurement and marketing. The Product Manager will also have the responsibility for driving new products to market whilst identifying products that need to be taken out of the range. The individual will be a leader and be able to command respect from internal and external stake holders ensuring that the business who are already leaders in their sector but wish to continue this growth whilst exploiting opportunities within the sector as and when they present themselves.
