Position Overview:
KO2 are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to lead the companies mechanical testing efforts. The Mechanical test Engineer will oversee a range of tests including flashover testing, pneumatic testing, tensile testing, cycle testing, and pressure vessel testing. This role involves not only executing established tests but also developing new ones, contributing to product development, and ensuring compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise technicians performing repetitive tests while you focus on more complex and innovative testing.
- Conduct mechanical tests on breathing equipment and carrying systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Lead flashover, pneumatic, tensile, and pressure vessel tests, with a focus on thermal dynamics and flame tests.
- Develop and implement new testing procedures to meet evolving product requirements.
- Analyze test data and present findings to the engineering team.
- Collaborate with international testing facilities in Germany and North America.
- Engage in the development of new products as well as ensuring compliance and testing designs.
- Utilize LabVIEW for data acquisition and analysis.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to improve testing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of industry experience in mechanical testing; more experienced candidates are welcome.
- Proficiency in mechanical testing techniques and principles, including tensile, pneumatic, and pressure vessel testing.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW and basic data acquisition systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data clearly.
- A proactive team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally for testing purposes.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in destructive testing and product development.
- Background in development engineering, compliance engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or quality engineering.
