Salary: £40,000 – £47,000

Our client is a privately owned, British company who develop, design and manufacture their industry leading products on site in their Manchester based offices. They make a host of electromechanical devices that are manufactured in large numbers and sold around the globe.
An exciting position has now been created for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Engineering teams as they continue to grow. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be reporting directly to the Technical Director and be tasked with leading the mechanical design element of their new product range whilst working closely with senior members of the Engineering department from a variety of disciplines including electronics, production and test.
You will be familiar with the Autodesk suite and ideally have experience with Inventor and Vault and have extensive experience with 3D design for both metals and plastics. You will be working closely with other engineering departments towards complete electro-mechanical products so experience designing enclosures for electronic circuits is a must. You will have strong experience with mechanical modelling and simulation, designing machined and cast metal components and injection moulding. In this role you will have the chance to contribute at all design stages whilst overseeing 2 other mechanical engineers works and tasks.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Project or Team leading experience
- Epicor ERP experience
- Design of handheld electronic equipment
- Knowledge of test and measurement equipment
