The flagship product, is a robust system that provides critical real-time data and alerts to both users and operators, ensuring safety and coordination in high-risk environments. The business are currently seeking a Junior Test Engineer to join their dynamic team as they enter the validation stage of the product lifecycle, which will then lead to focusing on maintaining and enhancing the system over the next five years.
Role Overview:
As a Junior Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing the software and hardware systems, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness. You will be responsible for creating and executing tests for the Android app and the overall system, including telemetry modules and communication interfaces. Your work will involve designing and developing test rigs, performing regression and manual testing, and analysing system behaviour to identify and troubleshoot issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software and System Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of the Android app and full system integration, including telemetry, modules, and communication interfaces (Bluetooth, 2G, 3G, 4G).
- Test Rig Design and Development: Use National Instruments LabVIEW to design test rigs that evaluate system performance. Define and build standalone hardware setups, such as data acquisition chassis, to monitor system signals and inputs.
- Issue Analysis and Feedback: Identify and analyse system issues, determine their root causes, and provide detailed feedback to the design team.
- System Validation: Perform on-site testing, walking through various scenarios to validate system behaviour and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support system validation and feature enhancements.
Requirements:
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python. Experience with LabVIEW is not required; the business are happy to provide training.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand and work with complex systems, including telemetry and communication technologies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate issues and collaborate with team members.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in testing and analysis.
