LOCATION OF WORK: Crawley, West Sussex and Remote Working (only required onsite when task work can’t be performed remotely)

RATE: £45-50 per hour

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months initially

IR35 STATUS: Outside of IR35



An Electronics Engineer with strong FPGA and VHDL skills is required for an initial 6-month contract which will extend.

You will be working on the design of a brand new ‘controller’ which is at feasibility stage. You will have opportunity to work on this product design from concept through to manufacture. As such you should demonstrate proven experience working throughout the electronic product lifecycle.

The controller you will be designing allows the customer to control a wide range of electronic applications that the client also designs and manufactures in the UK.

To be suitable for this role you should demonstrate strong FPGA and VHDL programming skills. If you are an Electronics Engineer who can do FPGA and VHDL task work, as well as broader Analogue and Digital microcontroller/ microprocessor circuit design this would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to work on an exciting new product development where you will play a key role on all the FPGA and VHDL task work.


  • FPGA design
  • VHDL programming
  • Full electronic design lifecycle experience (concept through to manufacture)
  • Serial communication protocol experience e.g. I2C, RS232, RS485, SPI, USB


  • Xilinx
  • Embedded C to test the FPGA design
  • Analogue and Digital design
