Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location of Office: Basingstoke

Salary: Up to £60,000

An electronics business who specialise in designing bespoke customer solutions used in subsea technology for a variety of applications are looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer to the team. Due to huge customer demand in some of the following areas of work, Dolphin Monitoring, Sealife Asset Monument and Sea Bed Monitoring, the business is looking to add additional electronics engineers to the multidiscipline team.

The suitable embedded software engineer will have some of the below skills

• Embedded Software
• Programming in Embedded C
• Programming in assembler, advantageous but not essential
• Programming in C/C++
• Knowledge of electronics and an interest in electronics

This opportunity is ideal for an electronics engineer who wishes to have a real impact on the design and development of a product, you will have opportunity to speak to the customer to understand their requirements from concept through to manufacture.

When KO2 were on site with the client it was explained to us that an engineer was actually installing a product in Brazil he had designed from the embryonic stage and taken through to manufacture and customer deployment. If you want to truly own a project this is for you, engineers are totally autonomous and raise their own PO’s and acquire their own components and parts without the need for sign off.

This role will suit someone who is capable of embedded software programming in embedded c and some assembler, however assembler is being phased out due to maintenance issues, the client uses a pic micro controller, this role is suited to an embedded software enthusiast, as well as doing electronics micro design, you will have the chance to work with DSPs and acoustics as well as other technologies as you design bespoke customer solutions.
