Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: up to £45,000

Office Location: North Shields

The Role: A leading manufacturer of software and hardware solutions for the international gaming industry are now seeking an Embedded Engineer to join their growing Engineering team in the North Shields area. The successful Embedded Engineer will be joining a multidiscipline team and have the chance to work on new product developments built around C/++ code in both real-time windows and Linux environments.

You will be joining a stable and well-funded organisation with over 15 years’ experience in this industry, where new developments and product innovation is at the centre of their business.  You can expect to work closely with technical enthusiasts in a challenging and varied role, with the chance to contribute across the full design life cycle on next generation products, whilst supporting existing product lines.

The ideal Embedded Engineer will be degree qualified and be able to illustrate industry experience developing embedded software solutions coded in C/C++. You will be comfortable in both Windows and Linux environments and have worked with a range of serial protocols (USB, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485 etc) whilst any experience at kernel or device driver level development will make your CV standout.

Based near the A19 they are easily commutable from many regions of the Newcastle and offer flexible working hours to assist with the commute and day to day life. On offer is a salary of up to £50,000 and the chance to work in a brand-new office with plenty of scope for career growth and the chance to develop industry leading products that are used around the globe.

Skills Required:

  • C/C++ programming
  • Embedded software design
  • Linux or Windows environments
  • Software Debugging
  • Degree qualification in an Engineering or Computer Science topic

Desirable Skills:

  • Device driver or kernel development
  • RS232, SPI, I2C, USB protocols
  • Microchip PIC, ARM or Atmel microcontrollers
