Embedded Software Engineer

Position: Embedded Engineer

Salary: Up to £70,000

Location of Work: Fully Remote Working

The role: A new position has now been created for an experienced Embedded Engineer to join our client on a fully remote basis working on the development of a range of new devices for their customers in the marine and oil and gas sectors.

The ideal Embedded Engineer will have strong experience taking projects from initial concept through to manufacture and be comfortable working as the sole Embedded Engineer within a team of electronics and mechanical engineers. You will have ownership over all software decisions and the chance to make a real impact in the design of a host of devices that will be used around the globe.

You will ideally be strong programming in C and C++ for embedded applications and have good experience with a range of micros (ARM, STM32, Atmel, NXP etc) and serial protocols (SPI, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, TCP/IP etc), whilst any experience with wireless comms, Python or Embedded Linux will really make your CV stand out.

This role will best suit an experienced Embedded Engineer who is comfortable being the sole Embedded Engineer and taking ownership of projects from initial concept through to competition.  On offer is a salary of up to £70,000 and the chance to work fully remotely.

• Embedded C/C++ programming
• Microprocessor development – ARM, STM32, Atmel etc
• SPI, CANbus, RS232, RS485 protocols
• Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols

Desirable skills and experience:

• Embedded Linux
• WiFi or Bluetooth protocols
• Python
• ESP32
