Position: Embedded Software Engineer
Salary: Up to £70,000
Office Location: Basildon
Location of work: Hybrid WFH model – 3 days working from home a week
The Role: An exciting opportunity has been created for an Embedded Engineer to join a growing engineering team in the Basildon area. You will be working on a range of key products within the energy and sustainability sector and be given the chance to work on new product designs whilst also updating and mainlining their existing product range.
This will be a varied role where you will work closely with a growing engineering team of like-minded embedded engineers in a challenging and friendly environment. You core focus will cover a range of software design and development tasks for a range of industry leading products. You can expect the role to involve coding in C and C++ across embedded, Linux and microprocessor environments whilst using a variety of serial protocols (I2C, MODBUS, CANBUS, I2C etc). You will be working on the design of complex and regulated products so any experience writing code for safety critical or regulated industries is desirable whilst any experience at device driver or Linux kernel level development will make your CV standout.
This role can be performed semi remotely, and the client are happy for the successful Embedded Engineer to work 3 days a week from home. This role will best suit an embedded engineer who is enthusiastic about software development, enjoys variety in their role and the chance to work within a small engineering team throughout the full development life cycle.

- Embedded C/C++ programming
- Linux development
- Modbus, Canbus, SPI, I2C protocols
- Microprocessor development
Desirable Skill and Experience:
- ARM processors
- Embedded Linux
- Safety critical standards and regulations
- Linux driver or kernel level design
