Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Office Location: Southampton

The Role: Our client, an industry leading electronics company within the secure wireless communication devices sector are now looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team working towards the development of their next generation of products. The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will have strong industry experience and be comfortable designing software using C/C++ and VHDL.

You will be joining a small development team and be given the chance to contribute throughout the full development life cycle on a host of cutting-edge products which are used around the globe. Ideally you will be an all-round Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for quality software design and your skills set will include C/C++, VHDL, embedded system design and version control (SVN or Git). Whilst any experience specifically with Xilinx, MPSoC, embedded Linux or image processing would make your CV standout.

You will be developing complex solutions across multiple platforms and can expect the role to involve tasks including: VHDL development, embedded software design, system design, requirements capture, customer support, inhouse testing and debugging.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Embedded C/C++
  • VHDL for Xilinx
  • Version control – SVN, Git etc
  • Degree qualified in an Engineering/Computer Science topic

Desirable Skill and Experience:

  • Embedded Linux, driver or Kernel level development
  • Image processing
  • Digital video standards or broadcast industry experience

Package includes: Salary of up to £60,000, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, flexitime, 9% company contribution pension, life assurance and more
