Role: Embedded Linux expert
Location of work: This role can be performed remotely if you wish
Location of office: Bristol
Rate: £50-55 per hour
Contract length: 6 months initially
IR35 status: Outside of IR35
You will be working on a brand-new Embedded Linux development. The previous product was based on a System-on-Chip (SoC) ASIC, with the new product development looking to use an ARM multi-core processor and a large FPGA which will do video, audio and USB processing.
The product will also use high-speed network interfaces to transfer data to IP packets.
To be suitable for this role you should be an Embedded Software Engineer who has a deep knowledge of Linux, working from device driver/ kernel level.
As you will be working on this product development from concept stage, you should be comfortable making system architect decisions for the software.
This is an opportunity for a Embedded Software Engineer with Linux kernel experience to work on a great project from inception, working with a very friendly and motivated team.
Skills and experience required:
- Excellent Embedded Linux experience
- Device driver / Kernel development
- Able to do architectural design and software development
- Embedded C
- Low level hardware knowledge
- Management of low-level hardware e.g. boot Linux from flash memory
- Board bring-up
- ARM multi-core processor
