Position: Embedded Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000

Location of Office: Dundee

The Role: At exciting position has now been created for an Embedded Engineer to join our clients growing engineering team working towards the development of a range of Smart Energy and Home Automation devices. This is an excellent time to join our client as not only are they working on brand new product developments, but they are also about to move into a new modern office facility which includes an onsite gym, breakout room and plenty of allocated parking.

Our client is looking for an experience Embedded Engineer who has a background in successfully developing embedded software solutions and can illustrate good experience with embedded c coding, ARM, PIC or Renesas micros and is familiar with a host of serial protocols (RS232, RS485, UART, SPI etc). Whilst any experience with Linux systems or wireless protocols (BLE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi etc) will really make your CV standout.

As an Embedded Engineer in their team, you can expect to work from initial concept right through to prototype and in house manufacture. You will be tasked with developing new software (mainly in embedded C) that meets client requirements whilst managing your own workload and time. As part of a small team you will be encouraged to collaborate with likeminded engineers in the engineering team covering electronics, software and mechanical design aspects.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Embedded C Programming
  • ARM, PIC, Atmel, Renesas micros
  • RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, UART
  • Working in a small design team.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Teensy or Arduino experience
  • Linux
  • Wireless communication protocols: BLE, ZigBee, Wi-Fi etc
