Position: Test Engineer – Electronic Products

Salary: Up to £50,000 + benefits

Location of Office: Wigan

The Role: A new position has now been created for a Test Engineer to join a growing engineering team working towards the design and development of industry leading products for the safety and detection industries. They are British owned and design, develop, test and manufacture all their products in their state of the art, purpose-built facilities in Lancashire.

You will be a Test engineer with specialist knowledge and experience of developing ATE for production test of electronic products ranging from small low density PCBs, through high density PCBs to large multi PCB assemblies.

Collaborating with the R&D team during product development, you will define and implement the test strategy for functional and compliance requirements. This can range from low volume manual test to high volume, fully automated programme and test.

You will be comfortable with fundamental electronics and schematic drawings and be able to understand the equipment under test and be able to design test equipment.

Working as a key member of a small team you can expect plenty of variety and challenges in your role and should expect daily tasks to include working closely with the design, testing, production and manufacturing teams.

The ideal Test Engineer will have an analytical and methodical approach to all aspects of your work.  Will be able to produce solutions to problems and test them through simulation and practical prototype. You will have experience with most of the below:

• LabViEW
• Mixed signal electronics circuits
• Schematic capture
• Appreciation of PCB design
• Prototyping
• Bench testing,
• Fault finding
• ATE, DFM, DFT, EMC, LVD, etc.
