Electronics Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £45,000

Location of office: Bedford

Location of work: Mainly Remote Working

The Role:

A new position has been created for an all round Electronics Software Engineer to join our clients engineering team working towards the software and electronics design of a range of innovative products. The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and have 2/3 years industry experience where you will have gained experience with a range of software and electronics design skills including: embedded C programming, mixed circuit design, a range of serial protocols (RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, CAN etc) and microcontroller design (ARM, TI, PIC etc).

Our client’s office is based in the Bedford area, but they offer a remote working policy giving you the flexibility to work from home most of the time, with the team meeting at the office on Wednesdays for project progress catch ups over coffee and cake (Fika).

This role will best suit a hands-on, all-round embedded engineer who enjoys the chance to work across both software and hardware design and is keen to learn new skills whilst working throughout the full product development life cycle. You will have a keen interest in modern design techniques and enjoy the challenges that problem solving, and new product design provide.

Skills Required:

• Embedded C programming
• CAN, RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet
• Mixed signal circuit design
• Firmware design and debugging
• Microcontroller design
• Degree in an engineering or computer science related subject

Desirable Experience:

• RFID or other wireless technology
• PCB design and layout
• Windows CE or Embedded Linux
• Python or C# scripting
