LOCATION OF WORK: This role can be performed remotely with occasional visits to Oxford

RATE: £45-50 per hour

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months

THE ROLE:

An Oxford based business who is working in partnership with a globally recognised sports team requires an Engineer with electronic design and embedded software programming skills to work on a wearable device that is to be worn by professional sports people.

You will be responsible for the hardware design and embedded software programming for a smart wearable device that monitors a wide range of movements to improve technique and reduce injury.

The devices use a range of monitoring sensors to record real-time measurements. This data is analysed and sent via Bluetooth/ BLE to a mobile app so the individual can gain insightful information about technique and performance whilst performing in this particular sport.

The device and its information will improve an individual’s injury risk whilst also giving individuals and their trainers/ physios true information about how an individual is performing the activity.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a bespoke IoT/ wearable development, in a small and motivated project team, and with a fantastic sports team.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Hardware design and Embedded software programming skills
  • Analogue and Digital circuitry design
  • PCB layout and schematic capture
  • Embedded C
  • Microcontroller/ Microprocessor experience
  • Designed Battery Powered Devices
  • Sensor interfacing
  • Wireless communication protocol experience e.g. Bluetooth/ BLE
