Position: Embedded Team Leader

Salary: Up to £90,000

Location of office: Newport

The role: Our client, a rapidly expanding start up in the medical devices sector are now looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer or Embedded Software Team Leader to join their team and take a lead technical role as they embark on the next phase of the development of their sector leading medical device.

The ideal candidate will have an established background within embedded software development, have successfully taken products through the full development life cycle and lead the development team or been in a hands-on technical lead level role. With our client being in the medical device sector experience in this area is highly desirable, as are skills and experience with people and project management.

Joining a fast moving start up you can expect your role to be varied and challenging where no 2 days will be the same. In this role you will have a real impact in the development of medical devices that will improve people’s lives and have the chance to lead a range of brand new projects. The successful candidate can expect their role to involve: delegating work packages, creating end goals, leading the team in technical issues and challenges, recruiting additional software engineers, reporting to company directors and leading software quality.

On offer is a strong salary of up to £90,000 + benefits that include flexible hours, 25 days holiday, pension and access to a company share scheme.

Skills and experience required:

• Embedded C/C++ development background
• Team lead or technical lead experience
• Knowledge of wireless comms – WiFi, BLE, ZigBee etc
• Experience liaising with customers and working with internal stakeholders

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience developing medical devices
• Solid knowledge of electronics design
• Python scripting
• Automated testing for embedded code
