Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000

Location of office: Doncaster

Location of work: WFH Hybrid model 50/50 split

The role: Our client, who design, develop and manufacture here in the UK are now seeking an experienced and enthusiastic embedded software engineer to join their growing engineering team. The successful embedded software engineer will get the chance to work with a talented team of like-minded software and hardware engineers, designing products that improve peoples lives.

The company specialises in designing a wide range of low powered wireless devices that are mass manufactured here in the UK. There is a mixture of enhancing existing products with more technology and new features, whilst also developing new products from concept stage to complement its existing product range.

For this role you should be a confident Embedded C programmer with strong RTOS and bare metal development experience and have worked throughout the full development cycle on a range of electronic devices. If you have worked on products that use wireless communication protocols e.g., BLE, Bluetooth, GSM, Zigbee this would be highly desirable, whilst any experience with embedded Linux development and embedded C++ will really make your CV standout.

You will be joining a growing R&D team and your core responsibility will be Embedded Software development on a range of industry leading products. You will have the chance to work throughout the product lifecycle, with plenty of exciting new projects in the pipeline.

Skills and experience required:

• Embedded C
• RS485, SPI, UART, TCP/IP, Ethernet etc
• RTOS and Bare Metal development
• Full software life cycle experience
• Version control – Git ideally

Desirable skills and experience:

• Embedded Linux
• Wireless comms – BLE, Zigbee, Thread, Z-wave, Wi-fi etc
• Embedded C++
• Jenkins or Azure DevOps
